By God’s grace, there are many tools for preparation and proclamation available today. Maybe more than ever before. Some are outstanding. But not all tools are equal and some may even be harmful. They come to us by way of books, websites, programs, models, and more. Reviews of these tools help us make the most of the helpful tools while avoiding the unuseful ones.
A Bible expositor has a task like no other—he must clearly preach God’s inerrant Word as God’s ambassador to God’s people. It’s not enough to know what the Text means, he must communicate the clear meaning through the Gospel lens with appropriate application in order to persuade God’s people to faithfully live under the direction and authority of the Bible. This is why he must be cogent and use quality tools.
